Saké

Saké is the latest Sydney hotspot epicureans flock to and the other night I made the pilgrimage for a second round of birthday festivity. Having a friend who works there as a chef, I have all the inside goss. Jake Gyllenhaal dined there recently, and Oprah booked it out for 130 guests during her tour down under. The food is a finely executed combination of elegance, flavour and freshness.

Edamame – The finest I have eaten. And that salt… oh, that salt!

Kingfish Jalapeno – Beautiful sashimi with the right amount of punch and heat.

Sashimi Combo – Lovely, but the sashimi at Toko has the edge in both quality and presentation (refer to the Toko post to see for yourself).

Salt and Pepper Tofu – Enjoyed by both vegetarian and carnivore alike.

Butterfish Lettuce Cups – Succulent and full of flavour.

Steamed Prawn Dumplings – Not too heavy. I detest heavy dumplings.

Assorted Tempura – Light and crispy. Yes.
