Workshop Espresso is my new favourite mid-city coffee haunt. A sliver of a shop, barely 3m across, they make fabulous coffee. I have been there on numerous occasions and am never disappointed. As I introduced a friend to it today, he noted the intense concentration on the barista’s face as he poured the milk in. That’s what makes it so good. Care and love. No slap-dash efforts that you often find in busy coffee bars.
Each day they serve a different single-origin coffee. Today’s was Columbian Supremo: creamy and smooth without a hint of bitterness, and no sugar needed.
If you are in town, head to 500 George St, just out the front of the Galeries Victoria for a caffeine hit that packs a punch, with a velvet glove.
