Burger Craft

Having made quite a dent in London’s burger scene, but thankful it hasn’t had the reverse effect on me and created quite a bulge, last weekend I was introduced to a real little ripper (pardon my Aussie): Burger Craft. Located at four PubLove London pubs, the Exmouth Arms in Euston is where we feasted.
It was early in the evening, so the pub was relatively empty, but a 6pm dinner was certainly in order after all of the sun and sipping at the Hackney Drinks Market.

Ordering my staple, a cheeseburger with bacon, she arrives and she takes my breath away. Shiny and proud brioche bun, slightly scrumpled, and glistening innards, I know she is meant for me. I bite into her. Burgasm. The dry-aged beef pattie possesses all of my essential qualities – it has smoke and char and juice and grease. There is the perfect amount of melted cheese and the smoked bacon is full of grunt and salt. Slathered in “chef’s secret smokey BBQ sauce” – this is probably what tips it over the edge. Smoke, smoke, smoke. That’s what I want in all my food, and even my drinks (as I discovered in Hackney earlier). Mmmmmm. Yeehaw!

Look inside her – not the pinkest girl, but not overcooked in any way. She leaves a nice greasy film around my lips. I don’t want her to end. I put her back down on the mismatched vintage plate… I watch her a little more and then finish her off. Burger love at its best. Without a doubt, one of London’s top three burgers.

Chips were rustic and skin-on and cracking too. Burger Craft, you devil. This is the start of a beautiful relation-chip.
